Almost a year ago, Bvlgari presented a unique model, which combined perpetual calendar, big/small gongs, tourbillon, and minute repeater, showing this set of functions in the signature Octo case. The new version of the luxury watch limited to a series of eight copies develops this idea to a magnificent jewelry embodiment: made of white gold and titanium, baguette-cut diamonds perfectly complement the case. Eighty-eight shiny stones with a total weight of 6.57 carats were used to finish the bezel and lugs. Another 35 diamonds (1.23 carats) adorn the clasp of the gorgeous novelty.

Although this stunning wristwatch can hardly be called unnoticeable (partly because of the solid diameter of 44 millimeters, partly because of the diamond finish), as you approach them, you can notice many subtle design nuances. For example, the titanium middle part of the case is tinted and has characteristic grooves that give the timepiece a unique charm of Art Deco style. The sapphire dial of the model is also darkened, which does not prevent to observe the features of the perpetual calendar.

Automatic caliber BVL 980 provides smooth operation of all functions of the Bvlgari timekeeping device. The mechanism is designed for 48 hours of perfect running without winding. The estimated cost of the model is $953,000.

A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Tourbillon “25th Anniversary”

First introduced in 2000, the Lange 1 Tourbillon luxury watch was the first wristwatch in the world to combine a tourbillon, a large date indicator, a three-day power reserve movement, and a power reserve display. Limited to 25 copies, the 2019 novelty with the same name completes the special series of ten models that A. Lange & Söhne has prepared for the 25th anniversary of its Lange 1 collection.

Like all timekeeping devices from the anniversary series, the Lange 1 Tourbillon 2019 is executed in silver-blue tones. The 38.5-mm white gold case complements the solid silver dial, whose noble color is effectively contrasted with the dark blue hands of blued steel. All inscriptions on the opulent novelty, including the numbers on the large date window, are also printed in dark blue.

The minute tourbillon located in the lower right sector of the dial is equipped with a seconds stop mechanism. The patented device, which allows the balance placed inside the rotating carriage to stop instantly, is visible in the tourbillon aperture, along with the glass disc of the large date indicator units.

The tourbillon bridge, which is demonstratively integrated into the dial, is finished in a mirror polishing technique. If you turn the caseback of the new A. Lange & Söhne luxury watch to yourself, you will notice that the bridge of the tourbillon and the bridge of the intermediate wheel are engraved by hand. The bridge of the intermediate wheel is decorated with “blue” engraving typical for all models of the anniversary collection. The estimated cost of the elegant timepiece is €165,000.
