This year, we have already witnessed many important auction sales of luxury watches with record-breaking results, including the prototype Omega Tourbillon watch sold by Phillips Geneva for a staggering $1.4 million and the iconic Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” owned by Paul Newman himself, which was hammered in New York for a whopping $17.5 million. However, the year is not over yet as there are several more significant sales ahead, and one of them is the Phillips Hong Kong Watch Auction: Five that will be held on November 28. 1. Philippe Dufour Simplicity (2012)
This extremely rare Philippe Dufour was created as a tribute to traditional Swiss watchmaking. Made and assembled by hand, it is enclosed in a 34mm 18k rose gold case that houses a sophisticated hand-winding mechanical movement built on 21 jewels. This piece of fine used watches is in excellent condition and comes with original certificate and presentation box. It is estimated at $120,000 – 180,000.
2. Rolex Ref. 5100 Beta 21 (c. 1972)
If you check our Rolex watches price list, you are guaranteed to find many stunning pre-owned timepieces within your budget. However, sometimes even quartz models may come at high prices. For example, being one of the first examples of quartz horology, this important 39mm 18k white gold Rolex Beta 21 with center seconds and date is estimated at $44,000 – 70,000.
3. A. Lange & Söhne Ref. 704.048F Lange 1 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst (2014)
This extremely rare A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst watch comes from a limited edition of only 20 copies. Created to celebrate 20 years of the Lange 1 model, it is distinguished by its 38.5mm platinum case with a black enamel dial and a complicated hand-winding mechanical tourbillon movement with date and hacking mechanism. The estimated price of this beautiful example of A. Lange and Sohne watches is $160,000 – 225,000.
4. Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph (1976)
While the Patek Philippe price list for important vintage timepieces is always impressive, some models still stand out from the crowd. For example, this rare Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph from the third series is estimated at $250,000 – 450,000. After all, enclosed in a 37.5mm 18k gold case and powered by a precise mechanical movement stamped twice with the Geneva Seal, it is one of the most collectible models ever produced by this company.
5. Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Ref. 276.1.62 Four Seasons Set (c. 1995)
One of the most interesting lots to be auctioned by Phillips is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Four Seasons set featuring four iconic Reverso watches, each enclosed in a 26 x 42mm 18k gold case with polychrome enamel depicting a certain season. Moreover, estimated at $50,000 – 100,000, these Jaeger-LeCoultre watches come at a very reasonable price.
