Vibrant wristwatches often represent an exclusive release of a well-known model of the legendary watch-producing company. In the last months of the year, Girard-Perregaux and Hublot introduced a couple of remarkable top-quality timepieces. Let’s check them out.

The case of the new model is made of carbon glass. Unlike other carbon fiber derivatives, this innovative material guarantees complete water-resistance. A key feature of the patented technology is the extremely strong compression of the material during a casting at high temperature. As a result, this material has a perfect aesthetics due to the uniform and smooth texture of all surfaces. The addition of deep blue glass fibers made it possible to make each of the hundred copies of the timekeeping device genuinely unique.

Another improvement is the high strength of carbon glass – it is a hundred times stronger than steel and, at the same time, has an incredible lightness. The density of carbon glass is not more than 1 g/cm3, while the density of steel is almost 8 g/cm3, and titanium is 4.5 g/cm3.

The sporty appearance of the Laureato Absolute Rock model is also reflected in the new design of the chronograph buttons and the bold contours of the 44-mm case. The length of the fully integrated rubber strap can be adjusted to fit any wrist perfectly.

The release of the new high-end watch from the famous watch house Girard-Perregaux is timed to the creations of dynamic and original installations in the social networks of the brand. The recognizable style of Laureato is integrated into a variety of popular locations of the most known megacities, including the intersection in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, skyscrapers of New York, Charles de Gaulle Square and other iconic places.

Inspiring images of eight legendary cities are reinterpreted in an expressive geometric format. A polygon with eight faces emphasizes the central element of the Laureato wristwatch – the case.

In July 2019, Carlos Cruz-Diez, a Franco-Venezuelan artist and one of the creators of kinetic art, passed away at the age of 96. He was the one who claimed that color is not constant and changes when we interact with it. On December 5, 2019, the presentation of the new Hublot Classic Fusion model, which became the last project of the artist, who called himself “the creator of space,” took place in Miami.

The dial of the new high-end watch consists of two discs with black lines stenciled on a colored background. In this case, the hour hand is fixed to one, and the minute hand – on the other disk. Passing along the dial, each of the hands sets its disk in motion, implementing the postulate of Diaz about the variability of color in practice. On the caseback of the topnotch Hublot timepiece, you can see the autograph of the artist. The experiment with optical illusion continues on the calfskin strap, with which all versions of the model are equipped.

A total of six versions of the high-end watch are presented within the series. The Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez wristwatch is available in three materials (titanium, King Gold, ceramic) and two sizes (45 and 38 millimeters). The limit for each of the options is as follows: 100 and 25 copies for the titanium version, 30 and 20 timekeeping devices with the King Gold alloy case, 100, and 25 copies in the black ceramic case.
