Graham

Graham is one of the most ancient and remarkable watchmaking companies in the world. The history of this manufacture started in 1693 when it was founded by George Graham, a British jeweler and watchmaker from London. Nowadays, the heart of this factory is placed in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. During its rich history, the Graham watchmaking brand changed a great number of owners, but the modern company has the best luxurious style and the high-end technique of timepieces’ manufacture. Moreover, its founder, George Graham, is considered “the father of chronograph” because each timepiece of this watchmaking brand is equipped with it. Nowadays, the modern assortment of this watchmaking company is presented in three different collections – “Chronofighter,” “Silverstone,” and “Geo.Graham.” Each of them includes timepieces of highest quality. Therefore, even used Graham watches are highly appreciated by the connoisseurs of the watchmaking art. For instance, “Chronofighter Superlight” is one of the latest models; this timepiece is made of super-light black carbon, so, the total weight of each watch is lighter than 100 grams. At the same time, these timepieces show the best technical characteristics due to their automatic movement. The chronograph functions of this collection are: a date, seconds, and 30-minutes counter. One of the models of the past extremely popular in the 1980s was the men’s Graham Tourbillograph Trigger watch. The 46 mm case of this model is made of pure 18k rose gold with an exhibition back to see the work of the automatic clock mechanism from the inside. The black dial is encrusted with small gold lines as hour markers and white Arabic numerals around the bezel. Chronograph functions are shown with the help of three additional sub-dials placed at 9, 12 o’clock and between 4 and 5 o’clock. The first sub-dial between 4 and 5 o’clock is a tourbillon with a subsidiary seconds function. The second one located at 9 o’clock is a 30-minutes counter. The last sub-dial at 12 o’clock is used as a 12-hours counter. All small sub-dials have red hands, while a big seconds hand is red as well with luminescent coating. Big hour and minute hands made of gold are coated with Superluminova. Moreover, this watch is equipped with a trigger and button made of pure 18k white gold. The accuracy and precision of movement make this model the best variant for active sports and different extreme conditions. The main gimmick of the Graham watchmaking company is the use of chronographs. The original chronograph movement was invented by George Graham in 1695. Nowadays, the Graham brand is run by the Swiss group called “The British Masters.” The combination of basic functions with chronograph functions increased functionality of these timepieces. Moreover, each model has a domed sapphire glass with the anti-reflective, and scratch-resistant coating guaranteeing water resistance up to 10 Atmospheres (100 meters). The use of best materials such as stainless steel, different types of gold, and black carbon is the key to perfect design and impressive functionality. The Graham watches are considered a prominent sample of the watchmaking industry in Great Britain.
