Jorg Hysek, born in 1953 in Berlin, is undoubtedly a legendary figure in the world of Haute Horlogerie. Moreover, he is considered a genius of luxury watch design, who has managed to combine avant-garde with classics. Jorg Hysek’s experience in the watchmaking industry began in Switzerland, where his family had moved from Germany. After having studied micromechanics and mastered classes for watchmakers, Hysek started his career by designing luxury watches for such renowned brands as Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Tiffany, Breguet, Omega, and Cartier. In 1984, he was even awarded the “Grand Prix de la Ville de Geneve” for one of his fantastic models. The first Jorg Hysek branded workshop was opened in 1996, though at the beginning of Hysek’s career as an independent luxury watch manufacturer, people did not want to buy his unusual timepieces that were too bold by Swiss standards. However, quite soon the brand’s popularity soared to unprecedented heights, which made Jorg Hysek watches some of the most desired timepieces not only in Switzerland but worldwide. Technical prowess and avant-gardism are exactly what make Jorg Hysek models stand out from the crowd. Each new luxury watch created under this brand name is completely designed from scratch with an approach that is significantly different from the codes of traditional watchmaking. Along with that, each Jorg Hysek timepiece is distinguished not only by its unique appearance, but also by a complex movement of the highest quality. One of the most prominent Jorg Hysek luxury watch models is the Kilada, a stylish timepiece in a minimalist style that revolutionized the watch design in 1997. It is the first Jorg Hysek model to be equipped with a tourbillon movement and also the world’s first timepiece to be fitted with two tourbillons at the same time. Among other outstanding models are the IO with its feline and generous curves, the refined Duna, the V-King with a casing done by the side, and certainly the Abyss with its highly modern design. Besides, Jorg Hysek also boasts a splendid collection of ladies mechanical luxury watches called Kalysta. However, it is worth noting that in 2005, Jorg Hysek left the eponymous company and together with Fabrice Gonet and Valerie Ursenbacher launched another luxury watch brand known as HD3 Complication. His new creations are all produced in small limited editions and positioned in the highest luxury price segment. As for the Jorg Hysek brand, or Hysek as it is called today, it is still a prosperous independent Swiss watch manufacturer producing gorgeous luxury watches for men and women. In fact, both new and pre-owned Jorg Hysek watches are now extremely popular with connoisseurs of Haute Horlogerie. After all, equipped with a variety of complications (e.g. a dual time GMT retrograde tourbillon, a minute repeater, a perpetual calendar, etc.) and available in a variety of materials and colors, these timepieces are truly unique. Thereby, if you want to underline your exceptional personality and style without compromising on the Swiss quality, these watches are exactly what you are looking for!
